Dr. Scoggins practiced family medicine in the City of Commerce for many years. He had an office in downtown Commerce where he treated patients on a daily basis, he made house calls in an era when transportation was scarce, and he delivered hundreds of babies in the Commerce Hospital which later moved and became the BJC Medical Center. He was also active in his church and the civic affairs of Commerce and Jackson County.
