Opal Robbins Cox, 85, formerly of Lenoir, died Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Wilkes Senior Village. She was born May 25, 1928 in Caldwell County to John and Arlie Bradshaw Robbins. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitnel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Edward Cox; and infant daughter; three sisters, Dessie Smith, Myrtle Setzer, Christine Carswell; two brothers, Vilas Robbins, Luther Robbins. .

Survivors include: two sons, Morris Cox and wife Emma of Purlear, Douglas Cox and wife Ina of Kernersville; three brothers, Maynard Robbins of Lenoir, Carl Robbins and John Robbins both of FL; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church-Whitnel, Sunday, October 6, with memorial services following at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Donald Engle and Rev. Stewart White officiating.
