Randy Carroll Herron, 61, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013.

A native of Buncombe Co., he was the only child of the late Marvin and Allene Herron.

Randy was employed with Square D for 5 years, and Kearfott for 35 years. He was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church, and served as an usher.

He was a loving father and devoted husband. His wife, girls, and grandchildren were the joy of his life. He had a heart of gold, and loved the Lord and his church.

Randy coached softball and baseball at Hominy Valley, being involved with the Hominy Valley Youth for more than 15 years.

Randy was an avid hunter, learning this at a young age from his dad. He will be missed by those who hunted with him on a regular basis. We're gonna miss you, but we'll see you soon on your hunting ground in Heaven.

Randy is survived by his wife, Jackie Brown Herron; daughters Abby Davis and husband Dale, and Christina Ammons and husband Ryan; step-daughter April Williams (Danny Hamlin); grandchildren Gage Herron, Heath Ammons, and Rylan Ammons; and step-grandchildren Holt Hamlin and Tori Ammons.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Pole Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Thurman and the Rev. Dr. Kelvin Moseley officiating.

His family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the church, prior to the service.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
