Bonnie M. Casey, age 70, of Oquawka, Illinois, passed away at 4:31 am on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at O.S.F. Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. She was born on July 21, 1943 in Jonesboro, Illinois, daughter of Milas Edward and Zula Smith Lyerla. She was raised and educated in Jonesboro and graduated with the Anna Jonesboro High School class of 1961. She married Ronald Lee Casey on February 6, 1963 in Aurora, Illinois. She first worked at the IAAP plant in Middletown, Iowa. Bonnie retired after working as an assembler with Maytag for many years. Lastly, she and her husband owned and operated "Little Brothers Place" in Oquawka, Illinois. Bonnie was a member of the First Christian Church in Keithsburg, Illinois. Bonnie was most passionate about her family. She is survived by her husband, two sons; Billy (Marie) Casey of Roscoe, Illinois and Matt (Michelle) Casey of York, Nebraska, two daughters; Tammy (Mike) Knapp of Joy, Illinois and Shawna (Abe) Weeks of Keithsburg, Illinois, five sisters; Louise Hyde of Bristle, TN, Shirley (Gorden) Myers of Aurora, IL, Elaine (Steve) Shephard of Jonesborro, AK, Lynda (Jim) Mosby of Elgin, IL, and Carolyn (Scott) Ury of Anna, IL, two brothers; M.R. (Linda) Lyerla of Harrisburg, NC, Jim (Glenda) Lyerla of Anna, IL., grandchildren; Andy (Ashley), Bethany, Tim (Beth), Adam, Nick, Kerstin, Alexandria, and Danielle. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Mary Lee.
Services: A funeral service will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00 am at the First Christian Church in Keithsburg, Illinois. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 prior to the service at the Church. Interment will follow at the Oquawka Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established later by her family.
