Services for Mr. Tommy Earl James, age 64, of Winona, Texas are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindale City Cemetery. Mr. James died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Hospice Homeplace in Tyler, Texas. He was born on May 28, 1949 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Edward & Irene Powell James and was formerly of Tyler before moving to Winona in 1998. Mr. James was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving in the United States Army, a member of the American Legion and was employed by the Carrier Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Irene James and by 2 brothers, Butch James & Eddie James.
Mr. James is survived by his sons: Timothy James & wife, Christy of Tyler and Tom James & partner, Greg Banks of Jefferson; daughter: Toni Michelle McCollum & husband, Edward of Bono, Arkansas; 3 brothers: Jerry Don James of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Ricky James of Cherry Valley, Arkansas and Terry James of Paragould, Arkansas; sister: Teresa Taylor of Bay, Arkansas; grandchildren: Trever James, Lance Corporal Cody Hicks, Austin Hicks, TyrDyon McCollum, Breanne McCollum and Alexa McCollum; 1 great grandchild. Serving as pallbearers will be Edward McCollum, Austin Hicks, Trever James, Earnest Avants, Shane Terrell and Chad Willingham. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday evening at the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home.
