John was the husband of Alice Whittenburg, the father of William,Harvey,Milford, Lettie, Ruth and Elsie. he was one of the last Justice of peace's in Cass township, Greene Co Mo. he presided over a murder trial, in the old Eagle school in the early 1940's
He lived in home that was built with slave labor, and often played with Indian children who lives along Asher creek when he was a child.
