Billy Ray Duncan, 69, of Waco, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Dr. Ed Carter officiating. Military graveside rites will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Billy Ray was born in Mount Joy, Tennessee, to the late Robert F. and Lacy (Follis) Duncan. He received a BA in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. Billy married June Cotten on August 5, 1955. He was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife, June, of Waco; daughter, Charmaine Burke and husband, Charlie, of Flower Mound; son, Ray Duncan and wife, Renée, of Spring; grandchildren: Tiffany Rae Burke, Lacey and Emily Duncan; brothers: Bob Duncan, of California, Jack Duncan, of Tennessee, and R.M. "Cotton" Duncan, of Texas; sister, Lucille Norman, of Florida; many other relatives and friends.
