Elizabeth "Betty" Covert, 76, of Lawrence Avenue, Nanticoke, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital, Nanticoke.
Born May 16, 1917, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Eleanore Sweitzer Piatt. She graduated from Empire Beauty Academy, Wilkes-Barre, as a beautician.
She was a member of the Plymouth United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Plymouth Chapter 345 Order of Eastern Star and was past worth high priestess of Calvary White Shrine.
Surviving are her husband, Russell Covert; sisters, Eleanore cq Morgan, Hunlock Creek; Catherine Miles and Marion Berkheiser, both of Berwick; Carol Arabinick, cq Bensalem; brothers, Charles R. Piatt Jr., Wyoming; Clarke, Hunlock Creek; and Alfred, Newtown.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday from the Clarke Piatt Funeral Home Inc., Sunset Lake Rd., Hunlock Creek, with the Rev. Richard Clark, of the Plymouth United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
