Noah Virgil Waggoner Sr. was born in 1811 in Somerset, Pulaski County Kentucky. When Noah was about three years old, he moved with his family to Indian Creek, Lawrence County, Indiana. Noah's father died when he was nine years old in 1820. On the 25 Jul 1828 he married Rachel Simons. Between 1828 and 1830 Noah and Rachel moved from Lawrence County to Greene County, Indiana, where they would raise ten children. Noah would make a living farming for fifty-five years. Noah died 10 Mar 1883.
