Edward Jerrel Browning, 81, was received into the hands of God on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, while at home surrounded by his loving family. Celebration of life: Noon Saturday at North Davis Church of Christ with visitation preceding the service. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Ed was born Sept. 18, 1932, in Hallsville to Julian and Lucy Browning. He was a 1955 graduate of Northeast Louisiana State University and served in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of captain. In 1956 he married Phyllis Renfro and shared 51 wonderful years together before her passing in 2007. He retired from General Tire in 1984 after 24 years of loyal service and sold real estate for several years after. Ed had a heart of gold and a passion for serving others. He was actively involved in the Hearts and Hands Ministry and was a longtime member of North Davis Church of Christ. Ed spent his final years with his wife, Edna, whom he married in November 2010. He loved playing golf and his annual trips to Fort Walton Beach in Florida. Ed will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-love, Dewey King of Minden, La. Survivors: Wife of three years, Edna Browning of Arlington; son, Michael Edward Browning (Jamie) of Santo; daughters, Cheryl B. Lowrey (Gary) of North Richland Hills and Lori B. Kirschner (Brent) of Fort Worth; sisters, Alene Yeger (Don) of Shreveport, La., Jwili King of Minden, La., and Lawana Hutson of Pineville, La.; grandchildren, Caitlin Browning (Zach) of North Richland Hills, Jennifer Magbuhat (JJ) of Keller, Julie Varney (Phil) of Atlanta, Ga., Jana Lowrey of North Richland Hills, Brenton Kirschner (Hailey Jane) of Searcy, Ark., and Callie, Cason and Kyle Kirschner, all of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Hudson Cole and Aubree Juliana Magbuhat, both of Keller, and soon-to-be great-grandson, Aiden Edward; stepdaughter, Teresa Riley of Crowley; stepson, Shawn Stone (Sherry) of St. Louis, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
