FOREST CITY Alexander Palmer Heggie, Sr., "Palmer" of Forest City joined his Father in heaven on Aug. 16, 2003.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Greensboro, with the Rev. William Poulos officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the church.
The son of the late Georgia Palmer and C.R. Heggie, he was born Jan. 31, 1911, in Mullins, S.C. A longtime resident of Greensboro, he was the owner of Lithoplate Service. A lifelong Episcopalian, he was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Greensboro.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hilda; his son, Alex P. Heggie, Jr., and wife, Judi, of Chester, Va.; his daughter, Patricia Millwater and husband, Don, of Forest City; six grandchildren, Alston Palmer and Brook Alexander Heggie, Donald Rives, Alison Palmer, Laura Alston and Patrick Dalton Millwater.
