Nathan Ray, Sr., of York, entered into rest September 23, 2013.

Nathan was born in York on July 10, 1961 to the late Arcie and Lumisher (Dickerson) Ray.

He was educated through the York City School System and was a graduate of William Penn Sr. High School Class of 1979.

Nathan worked for Lehigh Cement for 25 years as an electrician and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing on his boat and golf. His favorite football team was Cleveland Browns and his favorite college basketball team was Duke Blue Devils.

Nathan leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Nathan Ray, Jr. wife Ronelle of Florida, and Isaiah Ray and Devon Ray, both of York: three brothers, Raymond Ray, Harlan Ray and Larry Banks, all of York; a sister, Joyce Ray-Carter and husband Bennie of York; one grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Hudson.

A viewing is scheduled for, September 28, 2013, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, York, with a funeral service following at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Aaron A. Willford, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, York.
