Juan José Váldez y Quintero was born at Los Angeles October 21, 1801, and immediately baptized (SG Baptism 03308). He was the son of soldado Eugenio Váldez y Fernández and María Sebastiana Quintero y Rubio. Juan was still single when he died at Los Angeles. He was buried in the cemetery of the Plaza Church December 19, 1828 (LA Death 00075).
