Roy Vernon Albea was born in Greenwood, SC in 1926 to Charles Vernon Albea and Auline Witt Albea, the twin brother of Ray Charles Albea. Though Ray died in infancy, Roy went on to lead a long and fulfilled life. He married Betty Huyler on February 1, 1947 and they had six children: Roy Jr. June, Charles, Ruby, Lloyd, and Larry.
Roy had a strong faith in God, and was a member of Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain, and was baptized with the church.
Roy passed on September 13, 2005 at Embracing Hospice Care in Snellville, GA after many years of struggling off and on with illness.
Roy was followed in death by his wife Betty, who passed somewhat unexpectedly 13 days after him.
