Emil F. Ferguson, 80, 419 Macomber St., Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, September 3, 1989, at his home.

He was born November 7, 1908, in Chippewa Falls to Amelia (Krueger) and George B. Ferguson. He grew up in Chippewa Falls. Emil married Mary Popple on April 10, 1933 in St. Paul, Minn.

He served in the Army Service Forces during WWII and received a certificate of commendation on June 1, 1945. He retired from Uniroyal on Aug. 6, 1973, after 30 years of service. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge #176 F & AM, and the York Rite Chapter #46.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Jan (Mary Lou) of Barron; and two grandsons, Mark and Brent. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Richard, Ernest, and Lester; and two sisters, Julia Thompson and Louise Ferguson.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Craig Mansur of Central Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) and until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral chapel. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
