Dean "Shorty" Daniels, 58, of Arcola died 9:20 p.m. Thursday in his home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, where friends may call 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery.
Mr. Daniels was born in Strasburg, a son of James Henry and Olive Scoby Daniels.
He married Laura Rose on July 17, 1952.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and was an excavation contractor.
Surviving are his wife; brothers, Ralph of Mattoon; Kenneth and Charles, both of Effingham; sisters, Mrs. Alma Wolls of Anderson, Ind.; Mrs. Edna Robertson of Bethany; Mrs. Mildred Anders of Neoga.
Two brothers and one sister preceded in death.
