Mrs. D. E. Rusmisel Passed Away at Her Home Here Wednesday Afternoon; Services Friday
Mrs. D. E. Rusmisel, a resident of Bridgeport since 1917, passed away at her home here on Wednesday, November 23, at 12:40 p.m. Mrs. Rusmisel has been an invalid for several years, however a number of weeks ago she suffered a stroke and was bedfast until her death. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, November 25 at the Baptist church with Rev. Howard Osborne reading the funeral sermon. The service at the church will be held at 10:00 and burial in Forest Lawn cemetery near Bridgeport will follow. Janet DeMarls Castellaw was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, May 16, 1866, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Castellaw. On February 4, 1890 at Geneva, Nebraska, she was married to David Edgar Rusmisel. The Rusmisel family came to Bridgeport in 1917 and made their home here continuously after that time. Mrs. Rusmisel leaves to mourn her death, her husband, D. E. Rusmisel, four daughters, Mrs. W. L. Kelting and Mrs. E. D. Raiber of Lone Wolf, Okla., Mrs. A. J, Dugger and Miss Edna Rusmisel of Bridgeport; three sons, G. E. of Lone Wolf, Okla., R. L. of Bridgeport and J. R. of, Sterling, Colo. She is also survived by one brother, J. T. Castellaw of Bayard and four sisters, Mrs. F. H. Wilder of Pomona, Calif., Mrs. Wm. Correll, Salinas, Calif., Mrs. Wes Moomey, York, Nebr., and Mrs. A. L. Coxan of Viscilla, Iowa. One son. Jesse, died in August 1909 [1929]. Mrs. Rusmisel was a member of the Baptist church of Bridgeport. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the W. A. Canaday Funeral home.
