On March 30, 1940 she married Carl N. Holt in Fairland, Oklahoma, they were married 51 years. She was a homemaker and totally devoted wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and friend, known for her boundless love and gracious hospitality.
More than anything, Edith enjoyed working in her beautiful flower gardens and cooking for family and friends. There was always room for one more at the dinner table and always more than enough delicious food. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her children and grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished and she will be greatly missed.
She was a member of The First Christian Church in Miami, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, parents, son Charles Leon Holt, brothers Lloyd Homer Glenn and Leo Vernon Glenn
Survivors include and husband; four grandchildren, spouses; six great-grandchildren; several very special nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends she loved dearly and her "Other Four-Legged Roommate Hershy ".
Missed greatly by those who had the privilege of knowing her, Our hope is in the Lord and his promise that we will see her lovely face again. "G'ma Holt we Love You Forever"
Funeral Services will be Friday September 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Miami, Oklahoma. Interment will be in Ottawa Indian Cemetery S.E. of Miami, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Oklahoma. Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church in care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home.
