Kevin Ray Crawford 48, of Steedman was called to his Heavenly Home on Monday September 23, 2013 following a valiant battle of cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Kevin was born March 7, 1965 in Kansas City Kansas, the son of Betty(Green)Crawford and the late Karl D.Crawford.

Kevin retired from the United States Army Reserves after proudly serving his country for 22 years. While in the Reserves he worked for the Missouri Department of Corrections, SEMA,and Homeland Security. He was a member of the Church of God Holiness. An avid outdoorsman, Kevin loved fishing with his family and friends especially at Pomme De Terre Lake. He also enjoyed reading and was an exceptional cook.

His memory will be cherished by his wife Tessa(Powers)Crawford of Steedman, son Kalen Crawford of Jefferson City, step daughter, Tracy Young of Steedman, brother, arl Preston (Dora)Crawford of Fulton, half brothers, Terry(Jan)Hammontree of Edwardsville KS. and Steven (Nickie)Hammontree of Mountain HomeArk. half sister, Lee Ann(Cecil)Freeze of Edwardsville KS. Mother andfather in law, Joe and June Powers of Steedman, brother and sister in law, Terry ad Heidi Powers of Steedman, several nieces and nephews and best friends. Craig and Lisa Beck of Jefferson City Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Karl Crawford, sister in law, Tracie Powers and grandparents, Ernest and Letha Crawford and Roscoe and Mollie Green.

Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. on Thursday September 26, 2013 at Maupin Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis West officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Steedman Cemetery.
