David Alexander " Alex" Sherrill,Jr 21, of Ellerbe, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital in Rockingham as the result of an automobile accident.
Alex was born December 23, 1988 in Moore County, a son of David Alexander and Jacqueline "Jackie" Pierce Sherrill. He was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School, Class of 2007, and was currently attending the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Alex was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rockingham, where he had been a member of the Praise and Worship Band and was the Drummer for Brandon Kirkley and the Firecrackers. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Luther Pierce.

Surviving are his parents, David and Jackie Sherrill of the home; one sister; grandparents, Woodford and Lillian Sherrill of Ellerbe and Sally Pierce of Rockingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at First United Methodist Church in Rockingham with Rev. Dr. Keith Nanney and Rev. Allison Coltrane Farrah officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 4:00 –7:00 PM Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home.
