Michael J. Meredith, 67, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at his home.
Michael was born in Boonville, Indiana on November 11, 1948. He attended St. Theresa Grade School, Rex Mundi High School where he played football and Evansville Business College. He honorably served in the United States Navy. Michael worked as an Industrial Trucker at Alcoa for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching basketball, football and baseball games. Michael especially loved following the Bulls, Lakers, Yankees, Dolphins and the Miami Heat. He enjoyed playing cards, collecting coins, golfing, bowling, watching and feeding birds and squirrels and playing with his dogs, Max and Daisy and his cat, Mini. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Michael was a faithful member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and was a member of the Evansville Athletic Club since 1970.
Michael is survived by his wife of 18 years, Beatrice M. (Kerby) Meredith; daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Meredith; sons, Jeremy Meredith (Dee) and Steven Meredith; sisters, twin brother, brothers, grandchildren,
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy (Yellig) Meredith; daughter, Brittany Cheyene; sister, Shirley; and by his brother, Patrick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 600 Herndon Dr., Evansville, IN 47711 with Father Ted Tempel celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
