Frances Ellen Avery Dead
Frances Ellen Avery, the eight year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs Wm. Avery of this city, died at the family home at about midnight, Wednesday, October 16, 1918. Three of the children of the Avery family has been suffering with the whooping cough, and Frances contracted a virulent case of Spanish influenza, the disease developing only about twenty-four hours before her death. The other children are also reported to be ill with the same disease, and the Avery family are quite benumbed with grief over the loss of their first-born and with apprehension as to the fate of their other children.
The deepest sympathy is felt for Mr. and Mrs. Avery in these trying hours, and it is sincerely hoped that their other children may be spared to them.
