Held at Merkel
Merkel, Oct. 13 -- (Spl) -- Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning from the Barrow-Sheppard Funeral Home for R. P. Field, 78, who died at 1:40 Tuesday afternoon at his home. In failing health for the past several years, he became seriously ill last Friday.
Rev. Levi W. Price, pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Rev. D. D. Denison, conducted the rites and burial followed in Rose Hill Cemetery by the side of his wife, who died in 1933.
Mr. Field was born in Erath County, May 23, 1865, and had resided in Merkel for the past 25 years, having come from Putnam.
Sutviving are two brothers, Caroll Field, Wichita Falls and Joe Field, Robert Lee; two sisters, Mrs. M. T. Millican and Mrs. Beulah Summers, Merkel.
