Mr. Westmoreland was born in Loris, a son of the late Zack Dayton and Ida Medlin Westmoreland. He was a member of Socastee Original Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Westmoreland was self employed in construction work and he was an avid fisherman.
Surviving are: his wife, May "Tiny" Westmoreland of Myrtle Beach; two sons, Mark Dayton Westmoreland, II (Wendy) and Harold Dean Childers all of Myrtle Beach; two daughters, Amanda K. Cross of Myrtle Beach and Katharine Clark of Conway; thirteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dennie Westmoreland of Myrtle Beach and Nicholas Orlando of Ft. Mill, SC; and two sisters, Ann Westmoreland of Myrtle Beach and Faye Fletcher of Aynor.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel with Rev. Darren Squires officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
