KULPMONT — Stella J. Zimmerman, 90, formerly of 1327 Scott St., Kulpmont, who resided with her daughter, Donna, at her residence for 10 years, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at Mount Carmel Senior Living Center.
Born in Kulpmont, Feb. 20, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Elsie (Ermolovicz) Nezerski.
She was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont.
Stella was employed as a floor lady in the local textile mills.
On Aug. 8, 1953, in St. Casimir's Church, she was married by the Rev. Alphonse T. Marcincavage to George F. Zimmerman, who preceded her in death Nov. 16, 1989.
She was a graduate of Kulpmont High School and was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, formerly a member of St. Casimir's Church.
She loved to crochet and do needle work and spend time with her grandchildren and her boxers, Bowser and Tyson. She also liked her parakeets.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Lazarski and her husband, Paul, and her son, George Zimmerman, and his wife, Karen, all of Kulpmont; four grandchildren, Joseph Wargo and his wife, Jen, Timothy Wargo and his fiance, Jill Albright, Carissa and Austin Zimmerman; three great-grandchildren, Jessie, Seth and Joey Wargo, and a sister, Helen Bednarchick, and her husband, Stanley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Poplaski, Mildred Scovak and Bertha Nezerski, and three brothers, Alfred, Anthony and Edward Nezerski.
Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel 17851, to offset funeral expenses. To send condolences to the family, visit www.cjlucasfuneralhome.com.
