Death in Indiana of Former Resident
Mrs. Martha M. Ford Died Friday and Funeral Will Be Held Tuesday
Mrs. Martha M. Ford, widow of Peter Ford, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cora A. Winters, in Anderson, Friday. She had gone there from Bellefontaine for a visit and was taken ill and died.
The body was brought here Monday and taken to the home of another daughter, Mrs. Joe Lease, Albert St, where the funeral will be held Tuesday morning at 10, in charge of Rev. B. B. Gifford. Burial will be made at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Martha Marshall Polley was born in Boone, county, Kentucky, August 26, 1837, and departed this life March 12, 1915 aged 77 years, 6 months and 16 days. She was united in marriage to Peter Ford April 4, 1854. To this union were born eight children, four of whom preceded her in death. Her husband passed away Feb. 8, 1912, and since that time she had been making her home with her children.
Four children, Mrs. Cora E. Winters of Anderson, Ind., from whose home her spirit took its flight, and James Franklin Ford, of Anderson, Ind. and Mrs. Susan Denney and Mrs. Hester Lease, of this city, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandhildren remain to mourn her loss.
In early life she joined the First Baptist church of Short Creek, Kentucky.
