Sharon Ann Shannon Lindsey, 74, died peacefully in her sleep Sept. 12, 2013, as a result of complications from ovarian cancer. She and her husband Doug Lindsey had just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary one day before her death.
Sharon was born Oct. 26, 1938, in Phoenix to Lev and Leota Shannon. She graduated from Arizona State University and worked as an elementary school teacher before she married the love of her life. Sharon and Doug raised their family in Phoenix, Mesa, Gilbert and Tyler, Texas. After retiring, she and Doug divided their time between Tyler and Snowflake.
Sharon loved talking to people and was considered a friend to all. She served in many capacities in the LDS church, and was the happiest when she was spending time with her family. Sharon loved music and dancing with her sweetheart.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Lindsey, three children: Keith (and Alana) Lindsey, Sherri (and Darwin) Rawlins, and Scott (and Debbie) Lindsey, 12 grandchildren; Steve (and Raquel) Lindsey, Keith (and Angela) Lindsey Jr., Eric Lindsey, Shannon Lindsey, Ross Lindsey, Jake Rawlins, Shelbi Rawlins, Macie Rawlins, Chase Lindsey, Chloe Lindsey, Gavin Lindsey and Piper Lindsey, and one great-grandchild; Evangeline Lindsey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Robbie and her grandson Seth Rawlins.
Funeral services were held Sept. 16 and she was laid to rest in Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled arrangements. Leave an online or private condolence for the family at www.silvercreekmortuary.net.
