Melanie Higgins passed away on Sept. 13, 2013, surrounded by her family. She had fought but lost several very courageous battles with cancer.
Melanie was born in Edmond, Okla., on Oct. 23, 1957, to Don and Dottie Taylor. Her family, including two brothers, Leonard (deceased) and Robert, moved to Billings, Mont., in 1962. She graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1975.
She married Terrence (Terry) Higgins on June 1, 1979. They moved to Colorado and eventually settled in Highlands Ranch, Colo., where they raised their three children, Jessica, Austin (deceased) and Jacob.
She was buried next to her Son: Austin Daniel Higgins ,on Sept. 20, 2013, near Golden, Colo.
