Mrs. Mollie Mills Isom, 81, died at her home Sunday morning, April 12, after a lingering illness. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Polk White of Columbia, Mrs. Jim Dill of Murfreesboro, Mrs. Rob Dodson of Eagleville, and Mrs. Albert Sanford of Allisona; four sons, Garland Isom and William Edward Isom of Eagleville, Ellis Isom of Allisona, and Robert Dale Isom of Chicago, Illinois; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Lincoln County, but had resided in the Eagleville community a number of years. She was a daughter of the late Ellis and Betty Johnson Mills, and was for many years a member of the Methodist Church. Her husband, the late Diemer Isom, preceded her in death in September of 1952.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at Holts Corner Methodist Church. Rev. R. E. Stephenson, Rev. R. C. Hornbuckle, Rev. Billy Blankenship, and Eld. I. C. Pullias officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Fayetteville.

Mary "Mollie" F. (Mills) Isom, the daughter of James Ellis Mills and Elizabeth "Betty" (Johnson) Mills, was married to Diemer Isom on 8 August 1892 in Lincoln Co., TN.

Her mother's name is sometimes seen as Elizabeth "Bettie" Johnson Lane, due to her first marriage to a Mr. Lane.
