In 1958 with six young children and the beets frozen in the ground they left the Coltman, Idaho farm and eventually settled in Kaysville. She kept busy raising her young family, serving in the church, and baking delicious homemade bread. In 1966 she was asked to teach half day kindergarten. Since the kids were all in school she took the job, 18 years later she and her husband retired early and served two additional missions; first on Tarawa, an island in the South Pacific, and later in Hawaii. She worked in the Ogden and Bountiful Temples. She was an active member of the LDS Church all her life, and held many church callings in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary including Relief Society President and Young Women President.
She is survived by her six children, Edith (Ben) Reeves, Janet (David) Pickering, Kent (Susan) Ward, Elaine (Neal) Slade, Calvin (Pauline) Ward, Lynn (Natalie) Ward, eighteen grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, two grandchildren, her two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville 13th Ward Chapel, 875 East 200 North in Kaysville, Utah. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
