Sister N. C. Allen, Afterwards Sitton and Gash, was born April 13, 1825, joined the Mills River Church on March 22nd, 1840 and was Baptised into the fellowship of the same on April 26, 1840 which relation she sustained until her death, April 25, 1909, at the age of 84 years and 12 days. Having been a member of the Mills River Church 69 years. Sister Gash was twice married, the first to Philip L. Sitton, January 6th, 1842 after several years of widowhood, she the second time married Alford R. Gash, with whom she lived until his death. She was the second time a widow for some years. Sister Gash spent the last several years with her son, Brother Silas C. Sitton at whose home the end come. She was a devoted Church member, a Christian Mother and neighbor. Whereas it has pleased our Heavenly Father to remove her from our midst, Resolved that we bow in humble submission knowing he doeth all things well and trusting that our loss is her eternal gain. Resolved further, that this be spread on our minits as a tribute of respect and esteem and that a copy be sent to Brother S. C. Sitton, as a token of our sympathy in the loss of a mother.
Respectfully submitted,
