Edna M. Baits, 69, of Route 2, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Alton Memorial Hospital.
A native of Bond County, she had lived in Edwardsville since 1940.
She was born Oct. 10, 1898, the daughter of Everett and Rose Becker Perkins. She was married to Cecil C. Baits Nov. 4, 1919 at Greenville. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Helen) Olive of Alton and Mrs. Harold (Alice) Bartels, Edwardsville; four grandchildren; one brother, John Perkins, Greenville, and a sister, Mrs. Eldon (Winifred) Durr. Besides her parents, one brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. John's Methodist Church and the Women's Society of the church and of Edwardsville Chapter 667, Order of the Eastern Star.
Friends may call at the Weber Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Thursday until 1:30 p.m. Friday when services will be held in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Raydean Davis, associate pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
