Son of the late Bernard Seigler, and Ida Seigler, of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is survived by his sister, Ethel Seigler and brother, Lionel Seigler.

59 RAF Squadron’s Consolidated B-24 Liberator (#BZ724) aircraft was on an anti-submarine patrol over the North Atlantic when, diverted to Scotland’s RAF Tain because of bad weather and being low on fuel, it flew into the mountain, Beinn Mhealaich, three miles from Helmsdale, Sutherland, Scotland, taking the lives of nine of the ten-member aircrew.

The nine airmen who perished in this accident were-

RAFVR Donald PRATT,
RAAF Pilot Officer Alan James McLAY,
