Richard G. Chappell, 66, of New Castle Pa., a former Ravenna resident, died Tuesday, July 21, 1998, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born Feb. 16, 1932 in Ravenna, he was the son of Walter "Bill" and Mildred (Richardson) Chappell. He was a graduate of Ravenna High School, Kent State University and the University of Maryland.
Mr. Chappell was an agent with the Pennsylvania Farmers Association. He also had served as executive director of the Easter Seals Rehab Center.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include wife, Janet I. (Cernohorsky), to whom he was married 39 years; sons, David of Albany, N.Y. and Dale of New Castle, Pa.; daughter, Mrs. John (Cheryl) Cowher of Ft. Washington, Md.; two grandchildren; mother, Mildred of Ravenna; and twin brother, Gerald, of Stevens Point, Wis.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Wood-Kortwright Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
