MEBANE - Mrs. Mattie Iona Wright Daniels of Mebane, NC went to be with her Lord at 4:44 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Liberty Commons of Burlington. Born in Orange County she was the daughter of the late James Nelson Wright and Maggie Lee Shambley Wright. Iona retired from Cone Mills, was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, enjoyed puzzles and had a special love for quilting. For over 30 years she was an independent Stanley Home Product Dealer and was active with the "American War Mothers" for over 20 years.She is survived by two daughters Catherine D. Sykes and husband Bill Sykes Jr. of High Point, Doris Daniels of New London, son Harold Daniels and wife Terry of Mebane, two grandchildren Emily Daniels and Preston Daniels both of Graham, sisters Mildred Dail of Burlington, Melba Massey of Mebane, brother in law W. C. Dawkins of Burlington, a dear beloved friend Lucinda Sykes, special caregiver Carol Squires. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Edward Daniels, son Jimmy Daniels, brothers Fletcher, Alonzo, Ervin and James Nelson Wright. Two sisters Cora Lee Dawkins and Marion Spainhour.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday September 24, 2013 at Lebanon United Methodist Church, officiating will be the Reverend Drew Willis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
