CAVE CITY – Irene Conyers King Stevens, 74, of Cave City, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at a nursing home in Sidney.

Born March 19, 1926, near Melbourne, she was the daughter of Charles and Hattie Dunlap Conyers. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Davis of Jacksonville; two stepsons, Dean King of Sikeston, Mo., and Bill Stevens of Flint, Mich.; a brother, Oren Conyers of Altus; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Radie King; her second husband, Andrew Stevens; five brothers, Raymond Conyers, George Conyers, Henry Conyers, Truman Conyers and Shorty Conyers; and three sisters, Lorene Call, Merle Harmon and Pearl Conyers.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastside Baptist Church in Cave City with Gary Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Eutopia Cemetery west of Cave City, with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

Pallbearers are Larry Wilson, Paul Hoggard, Scott Conyers, Billy Snow, Mordecai Marlin and Jim Conyers.

Honorary pallbearers are David Harmon, Larry VanHoozer and Jim Leasure.
