Jemima was the daughter of Samuel Scott and Ann Roy originally from Virginia, lived in Bourbon County, Kentucky, She married William Duncan on 24 Mar 1813 Bourbon County, Kentucky book 2, p. 46. They moved from Bourbon County in 1826 to Clay County, Missouri and thence to Clinton County, Missouri. They had children: Elizabeth Duncan who married John P. C. Dunn; William Duncan died at Bents Fort in Colorado in 1846; Mary Ann Duncan who married James H. Ford; James Duncan who married Permelia Duncan d/o James Duncan and Nancy Musick; Louisa Duncan who married first Gibson T. Owen married second Judge Isaac Wood; Theodore Duncan who married Henrietta P. Johnson. He served with Col. Doniphan with the Missouri Volunteers in the War with Mexico and was killed 27 Jun 1861 Jackson County, Missouri during the Civil War. And, John G. Duncan died 5 Mar 1851 at sea on the "Alice Tarleton" and buried at sea.
