Bulia Cynthia Cook Pummell passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2013 surrounded by her family in Vernal, Utah.

Bulia was born on September 29, 1919 in Vernal, Utah to Cora Eliza Slaugh and Harold Albert Cook.

Bulia was a very faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held many church callings including: relief society president, first and second counselor in the relief society, president and a counselor in the primary, compassionate service leader, boy scout leader, and den mother. She was honored with the Boy Scout Silver Beaver Award.

She spent many hours along side her husband farming, she continued farming many years after he passed away. She could out do any man when it came to milking a cow. She was always a supportive mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her children and grandchildren will always treasure the many stories of her life she often shared with them. She loved to share her knowledge of her favorite hobbies and talents.

Bulia was a homemaker and later worked at Naples Elementary in the school lunch program. She worked at Naples for 20 Years, where she received The Heart of The Program Award. This is awarded to the lunch worker who goes the extra mile in their job. For many years she picked, sold and preserved raspberries. She spent hours cleaning fish for Calders to earn extra money.

Bulia enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, word searches, reading, visiting family and friends. She always looked forward to the family reunion and the brothers and sisters christmas party. She also enjoyed rides on the mountain and traveling. She loved to bake and cook. Some of her families favorites are her homemade chicken noodle soup, raisin filled cookies and carmel popcorn.

She will be dearly missed by all that love her.

Bulia is survived by her children: Carol Rae Rich, Tony Rex (Marge) Pummell, Laurie Ann (Butch) Stewart, Bradley J. Pummell, and Colleen C. (Thomas) Lawson; 35 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren and 28 great great-grandchildren; siblings: Onie Byrd, Glade (Lavertta) Cook, Devonna Timothy, Dall (Ellen) Cook, Ned (Connie) Cook; and sister-in-laws: Amy Cook, Carolyn Cook and Betty Cook.

Bulia is preceded in death by her husband: Cecil Arthur Pummell; her parents: Harold and Cora Cook; son: Terry Brent Pummell; son-in-law: Donald Rich; granddaughters: Amy Lori Stewart Johnson and Liberty Jean Stewart; great-grandchildren: Rich W. Tripp, Angel Murdock and Karie Weldon; siblings: Clifton (Bud) Cook, Verl Cook, Glen Cook, Shirley Cook, Raie Cook Clark, Virgie Cook Stark and Nadean Cook Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11 AM at the Davis 4th Ward Chapel (3990 South 1500 East).

A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 ~ 8 PM at the Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West) and Friday 9:45 ~ 10:45 AM at the chapel prior to the funeral service.

Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Ashley Valley Funeral Home.
