John R. Abner Jr.

WARREN - The funeral for John Robert "Sonny" Abner Jr., 48, 1975 Wick St. S.E., who died of cancer Saturday, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sibley Funeral Home... Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mr. Abner was born March 15, 1943, in Roanoke, Ala., the son of John R. and Maude Wilder Abner Sr.

A resident here for 45 years, he was a steelworker at Warren Consolidated Industries.

Mr. Abner had enjoyed crafts and gardening.

Survivors include a daughter, Thelma Abner, and a son, John III, of Warren; his mother and a sister, Mrs. Minnie L. Bennett of Warren; and three brothers, Eugene R. of Detroit, Mich., Vincent and Leonard of Bridgeport, Conn.
