Kenneth D. Adams of 638 Rubber Avenue in Naugatuck, died Saturday afternoon, April 10, 1976, at age 36, following a one- car accident on the Derby-Milford Road in Orange. He was pro- nounced dead at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Born in Naugatuck on July 29, 1939, Kenny was a son of Eliza- beth (Geigle) Adams of Naugatuck and the late Gaston Adams, and the husband of Carol (Slryjewski) Adams. He had been employed as a truck driver with Carolina Express in Milford and was a member of the Teamsters Local 677. Kenny was also a member of the Connecticut National Guard and the Ancient Or- der of Hibernians, a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck, and a 5-year member of the Benevolent & Pro- tective Order of Elks (Naugatuck Lodge No. 967), having been initiated into the Order in 1971. At the time of his death, Mr. Adams was an officer (Esteemed Leading Knight) at the local Elks Lodge; and in 1972 he had been honored as 'Elk of the Year'.
In addition to his mother and his wife, Kenny was survived by two sons, Kenneth D. Adams Jr. and Dennis Adams, and one daughter, Brandi Adams, all of Naugatuck; a brother, Wayne Adams of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held from 7 to 9pm on Monday, April 12, at the Green and Packer Funeral Home in Naugatuck, with a Ses- sion of Sorrow conducted by the Naugatuck Lodge of Elks at 6:45 and a tribute from the Naugatuck Emblem Club at 7. Fu- neral services took place on Tuesday at 8:15 from the funeral home to Saint Francis Church for a Mass at 9am; and burial followed at Saint James Cemetery.
