Helena M. Jackson, 84, of Vestal, NY went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 16, 2013. She was born on August 1, 1929 in Elmira, NY.

She is predeceased by her parents, Theo and Margaret Sayles; her husband, William; brothers, Jack, Fran, and George; sister, Mary; and oldest son, David J. Jackson.

Helena is survived by two sons, Stephen T. (Maryann) of Virginia, Thomas W. of Sodus, NY; three daughters, Kathleen M. (Raymond) Taylor of Ohio, Nancy A. (Bradley) Miller of Oregon, and Mary E. (Robert) Sherwin of Liverpool, NY. Helena's life was also blessed with nine grandchildren, many nephews and nieces, and one great-grandchild.

Helena received her nursing degree from Saint Joseph's Hospital in Elmira, NY, and worked as a nurse while accompanying William to Air Force duty stations at Bolling Field, in Washington, DC, and Offut AFB, Nebraska during the Korean War. She enjoyed meeting annually with her fellow classmates until recently.

Helena enjoyed her religion and was active in the Altar Rosary Society.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 21 from 9:00AM until 10:30AM at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main Street, Vestal. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 157 Clark Street, Vestal.

The burial will be at Vestal Park Cemetery immediately following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Alzheimer's Association , 401 Hayes Ave, Endicott, NY 13760 in Helena's name.
