Veronica B. Dziurzynski, 89, of Peru, died 5:20 a.m. Jan. 1, 2010, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Peru.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Valentine Church, Peru. The Rev. William Gardner will officiate. Burial will be at St. Valentine Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service. Ptak Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Dziurzynski was born Jan. 1, 1921, in La Salle to Frank and Sophie (Jozwiak) Barsztaitis. She married Casimir Dziurzynski on Sept. 26, 1942, in St. Hyacinth Church, La Salle.

She worked for Westclox until retiring. She was a member of St. Valentine Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Janice (David) Arbisi of Bolingbrook; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Ralph Barsztaitis of La Salle and Ray (Jody) Barsztaitis of Peru.

She was preceded in death by her husand in 1985, four sisters and two brothers.
