Buchanan, Judith Ann Age 48 of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 to be forever with Jesus. She was born on September 1, 1964 in Gary the daughter of Bobby and Shirley (Liedtke) Buchanan. Judy was preceded in death by her father in 1991. Judy was their special needs angel and was dearly loved by her family and friends. She attended S.E.L.F. School and Opportunity Enterprises in Valparaiso. Judy had lived in the Appletree Group Home in Valparaiso prior to her illness. She enjoyed music, the Cubs, Disney Channel, field trips, and vacation to Branson, MO. She attended church and Sunday school at Faith Assembly of God in Lake Station when she was young. Judy received a special diploma from a Special Needs School in Fort Wayne. She was so brave and courageous during her years of pain, now she is free to do all the things she couldn't do in this life. Judy is survived by her mother, Shirley Buchanan of Valparaiso; sister, Bobbi (William Foster) Herron-Foster of Valparaiso; brother, Barry Buchanan of Jacksonville, FL; and nieces, Jacquelyn (Michael) Bustos and Jill (Mike) Cruz, both of Valparaiso. Judy was a great-aunt to Isaac, Marta, and Elise Bustos and Madeline and Jack Cruz and cousin, Kerry (William) Mott of Chesterton. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 1st at 10:30 AM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., with Rev. Phil Willingham officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lowell Health Care Center 710 Michigan St, Lowell, IN 46356
