Anne Mirvish, art lover, sculptor and widow of Ed Mirvish, bargain store entrepreneur and theatre impressario, died Friday. She was 94.
Mirvish Productions, the theatre company owned by David Mirvish, her son, released a statement noting, "At approximately 1:30 p.m. … Anne Lazar Mirvish passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was beloved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her."
Ed Mirvish died in 2007 at age 92.
"She's been frail for the last few years and not as active as she used to be," said John Karastamatis, director of communications for Mirvish Productions, noting she suffered from arthritis. "But her mind was very, very sharp. She kept up with everything going on.
"She lived a good, long life, and she was able to accomplish a lot."
