"Bangs Youth Dies after Splitting His Toe With An Axe.

J. B. Walton 11, son of Mr. And Mrs. C. B. Walton of Bangs, died Saturday evening at 9 o'clock following An accident in which he cut his toe badly while chopping wood.

He was rushed to the Santa Anna Hospital where several stitches were taken in the injured toe and he died while under the anesthetic. His father was away from home for the evening and J. B. was assisting his mother with the evening chores.

Survivors: are his parents, three sisters, Laverne, Olivia, and Rita Jean, and one brother, Charley: grandparents, uncles, and aunts, two aunts, Mrs. W. N. McDewell & Mrs. C. J. Rush, reside in Coleman, Tx.

J. B. was my buddy in Liberty Grade School in second grade.

It was kind of hard him not being in school the next day. They just said he had died from an accident. Later I was told he hadn't eaten supper and ate some red beans before going to the hospital.(He didn't want to miss a meal). He threw up under the ether.
