Bill "Red" Shumate, 87, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Monday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Bill retired after 40 years from Union Pacific/BNSF. He was a leather craftsman most of his life. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He loved to fish. Survivors: Children, John Shumate and wife, Debbie, Terry Shumate and wife, Kathy, and D'Anna Shumate; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
