He began work for the Oxford Democrat then a weekly paper published at Paris Hill when he was 13 years old. He continued in the printing business for many years except for a few years when he owned and operated a grocery store on Main ST. After selling the store he returned to printing and when the Oxford Democrat was sold in 1933 to be combined with a Norway, ME paper he purchased the business in South Paris, ME and continued to do job printing until his retirement in 1957.
He is survived by his daughter Mrs Eloise Brown of Durham, ME.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary who died Jan 27, 1936 and a son Raymond who died in 1952.
