Rose E. (Arlotta) Champion, 94, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. She was born May 10, 1914, in Greensburg, to Antonio and Giovannina DiNiro Arlotta. Rose was a member of Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Prior to moving in with her daughter in 2000, she had been a member of Church of St. Paul. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy L. Champion Sr., in 1962; her longtime friend and companion, George Watkins, in 1993; two sons, Chuck Champion, in 2001, and David Champion, in 2004; three brothers, Phillip Arlotta and infants, Anthony and Philip Arlotta; two sisters, Angeline Randelson and Eleanor DeSanty; and a goddaughter, Philomena Rulli. She is survived by her son, Guy L. Champion Jr.; her daughter, Beatrice "Chick" Casteel and husband, John, of Greensburg; two daughters-in-law, Barbara Champion, of Greensburg, and Patti Champion, of Connellsville; seven grandchildren, David, Denise, Carla, Charlie, Becky, John and Shawn; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Good, of Greensburg; a brother, Tony Arlotta and wife, Josephine, of Greensburg; numerous nieces and nephews; a goddaughter, Carolyn Salvio Realino, of Greensburg; and a godson, Robin Ross, of Greensburg. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Rose from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., 409 West Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, 724-837-0020, where prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Friday. Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
