Preston J. Barker, age 86, passed away on September 14, 2013 in West Valley City, Utah.

Preston was born August 9, 1927 in Greenville, Texas to Jack and Eula Barker. He married Phyllis E. Barker on December 4, 1948 in Washington.

Preston was a caring, kind-hearted, generous man who would give his only breath to the ones he loved. He loved country music and chocolate milk.

He raised his grandson, Dustan Barker, from childhood, and was returned the favor by Dustan and his wife, Heather, when he was in need of care. The one thing he desired most in life was waiting for the day he could be reunited with his wife, Phyllis, who he loved more than life itself.

Preston is survived by his children, Richard (Peggy) Freitas, Susan (Courtney) Barker, and Judy Barker; siblings, Margaret Swindell and Mary Jane Hart; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South.
