Services for Ferrell Jarnagin were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at South Winnfield Baptist Church, Winnfield, LA with Revs. Jack Miller and Kelly Tingle. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Winnfield, LA.

Mr. Jarnagin, age 74, of Winnfield, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2003 at his residence.

Mr. Jarnagin was a member of South Winnfield Baptist Church where he was ordained deacon in March of 1964. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and was recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the American Area Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Montgomery Jarnagin and Ethel Ophelia Stroud Jarnagin; one brother, Bryant Jarnagin and one sister, Nelda Garrett.

Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Thelma Vail Jarnagin of Winnfield, LA; one daughter, Patricia Jarnagin Harrison and husband George Braxton Harrison of Winnfield, LA and Tenaha, TX; one son, Monte Ferrell "Buck" Jarnagin and wife Becky of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Lois Jarnagin Porter; seven grandchildren: Bryan, Michael, Leigh Anne, Rachel, Christina, Adam and Jace; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were: Bryan Price, Michael Ferrell Jarnagin, Thad Porter, Kenny Lasyone, Kevin Whisonant, Wayne Strickland, Steve Vines and Bret Vines.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Adam Jarnagin, Michael Price, Wayne Jarnagin, Charles Emmons, Rodney Porter, Harold Emmons, Nathan Whisonant, Jace Carreras, Buford Guilliams, Troy Frederic, Leslie Frederick, Les Frederick, Stanley James, J. P. Rudd and Steve Sanders.
